Is your car’s bumper more important than freedom?
As I travel around Richmond, going about my errands and commuting to work, it’s obvious that something is missing. At this point in history, I think it’s fairly obvious that we’re at critical juncture in deciding whether Virginia will move towards freedom or continue the steady crawl towards socialism. The upcoming elections on November 3 seem to indicate a clear fork in the road. So what is it that’s missing? Bumper stickers.
You may be asking, “what’s the big deal about bumper stickers”? Well, I’ve read several stories online that indicate a bumper sticker is worth $250 in advertising. Obviously this could be a huge boon for your candidate in an economic environment where donations may be suffering. Placing a bumper sticker on your car can be an inexpensive way to help your candidate financially, and requires little to no effort. However, it’s not just the financial impact that’s important when placing a bumper sticker on your car; it also serves 3 other important functions:
- 1. Informs the public that might not be aware of the candidates
2. Demoralizes the enemy. And by enemy, I mean the supporters of your opponent.
3. Fosters the belief that “you are not alone”.
I think #3 above is exceedingly important. Even after any upcoming elections are but a memory, your fellow citizens will still be on the road. It’s important to let them know that there ARE like-minded folks that are just like them; that it’s ok to believe the things that they do.
I’ve heard people say that they didn’t want to put a bumper sticker on their car because they didn’t want adhesive on the paint of their vehicle. While I can understand the hesitation, now is not the time for relatively unfounded concern for our material belongings. Heck, throw a fresh coat of wax on your bumper before you put on your bumper sticker – problem solved. And there’s plenty of products on the market that will help you remove any stubborn adhesive (goof-off, goo-gone, etc). And don’t stop at simply candidate/election messaging…when the election is over, why not apply a bumper sticker from one of your favorite local patriot groups, or perhaps some other like-minded state or national organization?
So do you still need convincing? Will you help to let others know that you are ALSO concerned about the direction of the country? Or is your car’s bumper more important than freedom?
